•Body Temperature Spiral Friction (BTSF) Test System

Client Need:

Client needed to quickly develop and manufacture a new BTSF Test System to automate data collection to provide and monitor both lubricity and durability of the hydrophilic coating on the distal section of the guide wire for vascular applications. The system was to record forces in push and pull motion as well as detect buckling of wire.


3-D Engineering Solution:

Collaborated with customer to design, build, test and deliver this system utilizing its multitalented team of engineers. 3-D built these diagnostic units utilizing proven processes and manufacturing capabilities. The unit utilized a touch screen user interface, and custom software to drive the test and display the results.


Results:

Designed, tested, manufactured and shipped a complex electromechanical automated test and data collection system as well as a level 3 documentation package including vaulted data sheets of OTS components, drawings, solid models, and Bill of material. 3-D Engineering provided client with support throughout this quick turn around project. Customer is very satisfied with the resulting unit and its ability to meet their specifications.
