Client Need:

Client needed a 6X beam expander that could provide the specified beam quality and spot size and to minimize wave front distortion of the transmitted beam.

3-D Engineering Solution:

3-D Engineering used the existing optical design but eliminated variations in the manufacture of the optics and mechanical components to demonstrate significant improvements in performance. The development approach for this project was divided into two phases: the first phase was an evaluation study, the second phase was the redesign development phase that included the fabrication and evaluation testing of (2) units to be delivered and integrated into existing systems.

Results:

3-D Engineering performed all design detail activities as required to fully develop the 6X Beam Expander. This activity included all detailed parts/features, specifications, assemblies, test requirements, and documentation creations. 3-D Engineering successfully manufactured working units, performed validation testing on the units, and provided on-site integration and system level evaluation and testing.
